Poem #1

Now that gas prices are low
  I find I have nowhere to go
  I sit and I talk
  I go for a walk
  Arrange photos on the bureau
 

Poem #2
  In a condo on the east end
  Live Susan and Bobby her friend
  Afraid of the virus
  They took their dog Cyrus
  And… left Long Island

Laurie Collins (age 62, North Sea)

Our community is so lucky to have WLNG, especially during this crisis. It is a local community minded radio station. Unlike TV I turn the radio on and go about my housework while listening. Every night at 7:00 they play a “Thank You Song” for the essential workers. While I listen I don’t feel so isolated. All the DJ’s are very caring about the community as they keep the listeners updated. When I’m feeling stressed I tune in to Anthony at 6:00 pm. He has a very contagious laugh.

Those of us who are spending a lot more time at home now have no excuses for not tackling home projects that we’ve been putting off. I find the hardest part is getting started. But it is such a good feeling when one is completed.
