Join us this December while we celebrate the magic of the holiday season. The parlors and sitting rooms will be festooned with garlands of fresh winter greens and flowers. Colorful antique holiday decorations can be seen on the many trees that decorate the many reception rooms in the mansion.

If you plan on celebrating Christmas and putting up a tree in your home you are going to need some ornaments to decorate it, and what is better than handmade ornaments by your loved ones? Join us at the Rogers Mansion, which will be decorated from top to bottom for the holiday season, and take part in some fun kid-friendly holiday crafts.

Hearthside Cheer: An Ugly Sweater Party

Join us for an UGLY HOLIDAY SWEATER PARTY, there will be food, drinks, music, and a couple of surprises! Make sure you wear your ugliest, most original holiday sweater as we celebrate the pleasures of the holiday season at the Captain Albert Rogers Mansion with an Ugly Holiday Sweater competition! The Greek Revival Mansion will be decorated with garlands of fresh winter greens and filled with bountiful hors d'oeuvres, sumptuous sweets, and a hot chocolate bar.

Santa, aka Saint Nicholas, Saint Nick, Kris Kringle and Father Christmas, has not always been a rooftop rambler, reindeer driver or chimney flue traveler!  Stephanie McEvoy and Nola Thacker of Westhampton Free Library take on his surprising evolution from Saturnalia to St. Nicolas to the Santa we know today. Bring lunch; we’ll serve cider and cookies.

Senior Holiday Party at the Rogers Mansion

All Southampton seniors are welcome to join us in celebrating the pleasures of the holiday season. The festivities take place at the Captain Albert Rogers Mansion built in 1843 by a successful whaling captain. The Greek Revival Mansion will be filled with holiday cheer with a piano player playing traditional holiday songs in the Music Room on a baby grand piano. Refreshments will be served!  A 20% discount will be given to all seniors for purchases in the museum shop. Admission is free but reservations are required as seating is limited.

Cookie Exchange with Elizabeth Yastrzemski

$5 for members $10 for non-members

Take a break from the holiday rush and join old and new friends at the Museum’s annual Cookie Exchange now featuring this year’s host Elizabeth Yastrzemski. Elizabeth Yastrzemski, local baker, gardener and floral designer, will demonstrate “Steps Toward Making Better Sugar Cookies”. After the half hour demonstration, swap dozens of festively decorated, homemade cookies from scratch - no mixes. Please bring 2 to 3 dozen cookies for swapping. Bring copies of your recipes, a tray to display your cookies and a container to take swapped cookies home. Refreshments will be served.
