Evidence Coming Soon!
After the surprising events of the October investigation it was quickly determined that the Long Island Paranormal Investigators (LIPI) needed to come back to the Southampton History Museum as soon as they could. Mike Cardinuto, founder and lead investigator of LIPI, said that it is extremely rare to have any paranormal activity anywhere, and even more rare to capture any evidence on the very first investigation of a location. The next available date for LIPI to return was January 11, 2019.
This time around LIPI conducted a second investigation of the Rogers Mansion and were able to get into the Halsey House which was built c. 1683. The team decided to split into two groups, the larger of the two staying at the Rogers Mansion and the smaller group heading over to the Halsey House. The groups would switch around periodically throughout the night.
The events of that night were not as spectacular as the October investigation, but below is a breakdown of evidence that was captured.
LIPI assigns different classes to the electronic voice phenomena or EVPs that they record. EVPs are believed to be spirits imprinting their voices or other sounds into audio devices which sometimes cannot be heard in the moment of recording as they are often quiet or occur while the living are talking.
The classes are as follows:
Class A - a clear recording where everyone listening can fully understand the same sounds
Class B - a noise that most everyone can agree upon what is happening
Class C - a somewhat hard to hear noise that everyone might hear slightly different
Class D - everyone can agree there is a noise of some kind, but it is hard to decipher what the noise may be
The classes are then broken up further into A1 or A2 with the 1 classification being given to recordings that are loud and clear with the 2 classification being given to recordings that may require headphones to hear.
For best results you will want to be wearing
headphones and turn the volume up a bit. Enjoy!
All of Tom's recordings took place at the Halsey House and can be heard below. The first recording took place while Tom, Mike, Dimitri and Shannon were at the Halsey House together. Shannon, one of LIPI's psychics, was doing a blindfolded walk through of the home which you can hear the group discussing when the EVP occurs. It was happen around the 8 second mark.
The next two are of footsteps heard within the Halsey House while Tom was left completely alone in the home. The other investigators were in the midst of switching locations and Tom decided he wanted to stay along in the home and see what would happen.
In "Footsteps part 1" they can be heard right in the beginning of the clip. While in "Footsteps part 2" they can be heard periodically throughout the recording.
This next recording is one of the more clear EVPs that we captured. You will hear Shannon and Tom talking about the footsteps Tom had just heard while alone when the EVP occurs at around the 8 second mark.
The next two recordings are probably the best of the night. Partly for their loudness, the fact it was captured on two different recorders in the home and for Dimitri's reaction. Warning these contain mature language.
Tom and Dimitri are chatting after Dimitri arrived back at the Halsey House after Tom was left alone when suddenly a loud bang occurred from within the home. No one else had entered the house yet and upon looking around the entire place, nothing had fallen that could be found. With the Halsey House being a museum with exhibits set up rather then a regular home where things may be placed somewhat haphazardly, the items hung on the walls and placed around the entire place are done so with great care and attention, so items would not just fall and museum staff, who were present that night, would have known if anything was out of place.
Stationary Audio Device
Below are Shannon's recordings all of which, just like Tom's, took place at the Halsey House. The first took place during Shannon's blindfolded walk through the home, you can hear Mike and Dimitri helping to guide her. This EVP is what is known as a Class D which can be very hard to hear. Especially over the voices of everyone talking.
The next recording is another Class D from the blindfolded walk through.
This next recording takes place during the same time as Tom's first EVP where he captured someone saying "hey" however in Shannon's recording the voice is not heard but she heard what sounded like someone walking on the second floor.
Within this recording there are two EVPs. There is first some background chatter by a female voice and then a more clear female voice saying "yeah".
Here you can hear what sounds like a piece of furniture be dragged across the floor.
The last 4 recordings are all classified as either A1 or A2, can you hear what is being said?
