MADE IN SOUTHAMPTON:
CORNERSTONES OF A VILLAGE
For the month of September, Southampton History Museum is presenting “Made in Southampton: The Cornerstones of a Village.” We will be taking you on a tour through our four properties giving you an insight into the various buildings we maintain from Southampton’s past. Most of these structures can be visited and enjoyed in person year round. But for those of you far away this is great chance for you to see what we have to offer. This exhibit was curated and created entirely by our summer Interns, please enjoy their hard work!
DATES: September 1, 2018 to September 30, 2018
KEEPING UP WITH THE PARRISHES: A VIRTUAL TOUR
This online exhibit was created entirely by our four Summer Interns who range from a Sophomore in High School to a Sophomore in College and will feature a virtual walkthrough of the daily objects used by Samuel and Clara Parrish, during their stay in the Rogers Mansion in the early 1900's. Many of these objects may look odd compared to today's perception of everyday life, but rest assured each artifact has a purpose and an interesting story to tell. A new post will be made daily for the next 26 days to give you a glimpse inside the Southampton History Museum and our Samuel Parrish House Exhibit.
DATES: September 5th to September 30, 2017
UNCOVERED FROM THE COLLECTION OF
THE SOUTHAMPTON HISTORY MUSEUM
EVERY DAY for the month of November a new object from our collection will be posted on the Southampton History Museum’s Facebook and Instagram pages that will examine a unique but commonly overlooked object from our collection. Objects will be beautifully photographed and thoughtfully researched so viewers will have a new appreciation for the objects that historically were essential to daily life – but today are almost unknown.
DATES: November 1st to November 30, 2016
