This is a photo of James Parrish ice skating at St. Moritz, as part of a 1909 card wishing the recipient a Happy New Year. James Parrish, brother to Samuel Parrish, contributed many donations to the Rogers Memorial Library and Southampton Art Museum during his time. James was known for ice skating during the winter period - a passion of his which he often did with his family. Additionally, this photo happens to be one of a handful of photographs the Southampton History Museum owns depicting James ice skating.
