COVID Guidelines for Rental Events

All of the information on this page is subject to change as COVID guidelines seem to be getting updates on a week to week basis as we all learn more about it and the effectiveness of testing and vaccines. The guidelines put in place are a mix of what is required by New York State and other policies put in place by the Southampton History Museum to keep the renter, their guests, the event staff and the museum staff safe. When updates are made to this page, all active renters will be notified and if problems arise, Museum staff will work with the renters to ensure their events can still function as intended.

Failure to abide by any and all COVID guidelines set forth by the Southampton History Museum can lead to expulsion from the grounds or the cancellation of your event.

Vaccination and Testing Rules

All Guests and Staff over the age of 4 are required to provide one of the following at the door

  • negative PCR test within 72 hours of the event

  • negative rapid test within 6 hours of the event

  • completed vaccine cycle within 14 days of the event

Children under the age of 16 who are unvaccinated but are with adults who are fully vaccinated may be seated with the fully vaccinated population.

Proof of negative tests or vaccination status may be provided via one of the following

  • paper form

  • mobile app

  • picture of a paper form

You will be required to show a photo ID to verify your vaccine card or COVID test.

Social Distancing and Mask Use

At an event where everyone provides proof of being fully vaccinated, masks are optional. Social distancing guidelines may also be ignored.

At an event with a mixture of fully vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals, those who are vaccinated may remove their masks however unvaccinated individuals are required to wear their masks at all times other than when they are seated.

At an event where vaccination status is unknown, all are required to wear masks and maintain social distancing. Masks may only be removed while seated.

At an event with unvaccinated individuals all tables are to be placed 6ft apart. Or a section of the property can be established for those who are unvaccinated with mask use and distancing in place with another section for vaccinated individuals without masks or social distancing.

Providing a negative COVID test does not equate to being fully vaccinated.

Interior Space

The interior space of the Rogers Mansion is still closed to the public during rental events.

Kitchen and Bathroom

There is no kitchen or bathroom at the Halsey House at all.

At the Rogers Mansion the kitchen is available for use by the kitchen staff. There is also a bathroom in the kitchen area that can be used by the event staff or the event attendees. But for any event with over 50 guests, you are required to also provide an exterior restroom for your guests.
