COVID-19 Re-Opening Plan

We have worked hard to get plans in place so that we could make our museum open to the public once again. Below is a breakdown of all the rules and policies being put in place to keep both you the public, all museum staff and our volunteers as safe as possible.

How do you visit the Southampton History Museum?

Call us at 631-283-2494 to book your appointment. The museum will be open for appointments Wednesdays to Saturdays for groups up to 6 people at $5 per person. Those under the age of 17 are free to enter. Guests will be allowed to see the Main Exhibit hall and the first floor of the museum, however the second floor will be closed. Appointments will be 45 minutes in length and be for the following times.

  • 11am to 11:45am

  • 12pm to 12:45pm

  • 1pm to 1:45pm

  • 2pm to 2:45pm

  • 3pm to 3:45pm

Do you need to wear a mask while visiting the museum?

Yes. You will be required to bring a mask or face covering and wear it for the duration of your visit. This is for the safety of not only you, but our staff as well. You will also be required to disinfect your hands upon entry at our disinfection station.

Do I need an appointment to walk the grounds?

No, you can come visit the grounds of our properties any time you want to and for however long you wish. We just ask that while you are here you are respectful to all social distancing practices and wear a mask or face covering if you cannot maintain a 6 foot distance from someone else.

What policies are the museum staff following to make the Rogers Mansion a safe environment?

A great question! You can download our re-opening application to New York State below which explains all of our safety protocols.

If you have a question about anything please feel free to contact us any time! You can call us at 631-283-2494 or send an email to our Executive Director Tom Edmonds at tedmonds@southamptonhistory.org.
