About the Event
Join museum curator Stephen Gould for a guided walk through Stephen Sayre’s American Revolution and discover the fascinating story behind Southampton’s most unlikely revolutionary. Explore the exhibit through fresh insights, intriguing artifacts, and the local history surrounding Sayre’s remarkable life.
Stephen Gould he researches, interprets, and shares the history of Southampton and the surrounding East End. His work draws extensively from the Museum’s collections and archives, with particular interests ranging from the American Revolution and Civil War to the World Wars and Southampton’s maritime history. Gould has contributed numerous articles and collection features to the Museum, bringing to light the stories of local residents, veterans, historic sites, and artifacts. He has also played a leading role in developing exhibitions, including Homefront to Battlefront: Southampton During World War II, which explored the experiences and contributions of Southampton residents during the Second World War.
