Updated: Aug 30, 2022

This is a photograph of the Daughters of the American Revolution Chapter House located on 20 Main Street, Southampton. The photo was taken in late April of 1973, and featured in a magazine article about the organization.

The Southampton Chapter of D.A.R. was founded at a meeting on Lincoln's birthday in 1921, with 27 women present at the time. Formal organization was finally held on March of the following year.

The house featured in this photo was built in 1721, and then furnished and donated in 1925 to the chapter by Pauline Morton Sabin. This location served as the chapter house until it was sold in 1997.
