About the Event
Join artist Oluwaseyi “Shayee” Awoyomi at the Halsey House & Garden to learn all about Adire by making your very own T-shirt. Adire is a unique and captivating art form that has been practiced for centuries in Nigeria. Adire is coined from the Yoruba: Adi (We tie), Are (we dye). Step into the world of Yoruba Adire and learn techniques and processes of creating unique and vibrant textiles that tell a story through color and pattern. Space is limited to 20 participants so RSVP today and make sure to bring a lunch!
All guests will leave with a throw pillow dyed with their own design.
Reminder - this is not a drop in class, you should expect to be here for the entire duration of the program from 10am to 2pm.
