Watch as Southampton History Museum's Director of Operations & Programs, and historic broom maker Tim Van Wickler uses authentic materials and techniques to create sturdy, functional brooms just as they were made over a century ago.


Visitors will gain insight into the importance of broom making in daily 19th-century life, the evolution of this essential household item, and the craftsmanship behind each hand-bound broom. This program invites questions and conversation, making it perfect for families, history enthusiasts, and anyone curious about the trades that shaped our past.
