About the Event

Join us to trace the evolution of Halsey House across four centuries. Discover its beginnings as a 17th-century homestead, remodeling into a 18th-century village residence, and later transformation into a Gilded Age guest house. Explore the building's extensive restoration by the Southampton History Museum in the 1950s with the help of Henry Francis du Pont (founder of the Winterthur Museum). Learn about the museum's ongoing work to protect and preserve this important historic treasure for generations to come!

The tour is guided by Sarah Kautz, Executive Director of the Southampton History Museum.

This program is free, but space is limited. RSVP is encouraged.

The Southampton History Museum's free public programs are made possible, in part, by a Suffolk County Omnibus Grant and by funding from the residents of the Southampton Union Free School District. Thanks to the generous support of our community, admission to all of the museum's historic sites and exhibitions…
