Conscience Point is known to be the original meeting place of the Shinnecock and English settlers of Southampton in June of 1640. Now you can join us for a paddling tour led by Chenae Bullock of Moskehtu Consulting who will take us on a journey through history to cover oral Indigenous history, Indigenous plant identification, indigenous lifeways, and Indigenous songs. Participants can bring their own canoe or kayak, or at check out you can opt to rent a vessel provided by East End Explorer. If bringing your own vessel, please also bring your own paddles and life vests and everyone please bring sunscreen, hats, etc. Paddlers are asked to arrive by 8:15am so that vessels can be offloaded and everyone can be ready to hit the water at 9am.
No morotized vesserls are permitted on this tour. If you are bringing your own watercraft, please keep this in mind. Preferred vessles, are kayaks, canoes, or paddleboards.
Tickets are $40 per person, free for kids 12 and under
If you need to rent a vessel, they are being provided by East End Explorer at the prices listed below.
- Single Kayak - $60
- Tandem Kayak - $90
- Stand Up Paddle Board - $90
We can only accomidate 30 vessels per tour. Because of this when you RSVP we will need to check to see if there is still room for your desired party on the tour. If there is, you will be send a link to pay for your tickets and boat rentals if need be. If you are bringing your own vessels, there is not additional charge, only the ticket price.
We want to ensure that all guests and staff have a fun and safe time during this event. That means doing a proper self assessment prior to arrival. We ask that if you feel any COVID-19 symptoms or fear you may have been exposed to stay home. If you notify us in advance of the program, or the morning of you will be entitled to a refund.
After RSVPing along with being sent a link to purchase your tickets you will be sent paperwork to fill out that we are required to gather for all individuals participating in any programs for the purposes of COVID contact tracing. You can return it via email or bring it with you the morning of the event. Or you can fill out the paperwork that morning.
All guests will be asked to wear their masks while in close proximity to other guests not part of their household and any event staff and do your best to maintain a social distancing when possible both on land and while in the water.
