About the Event
Explore one of Long Island’s oldest historic homes at the Halsey House & Garden. Built in the late 1600s by early settler Thomas Halsey and continually stewarded through centuries of change, the Halsey House offers a rare window into the daily life, architecture, and culture of early English colonists.
The house is open for free self-guided tours on Saturdays from June 6th through August 29th, 2026, 11 AM – 4 PM, with gardens and grounds accessible year-round from sunrise to sunset. Visitors are welcome to stroll through the historic rooms and scenic garden at their own pace, soaking in the atmosphere and rich layers of history.
While exploring, friendly and knowledgeable docents are available on site to answer questions, help interpret the exhibits, and share fascinating stories about the Halsey family and the evolution of this remarkable property.
