Join us for an engaging and entertaining look at the American Revolution through the sharp wit and biting satire of 18th century political cartoons. In celebration of the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, historian and photographer Sara Cedar Miller will present a lively program exploring newly researched British and American caricatures created before and during the Revolutionary War in New York.
Using humor, symbolism, and exaggerated imagery, political cartoons of the Revolutionary era offered commentary on the growing tensions between Britain and the colonies, shaping public opinion while capturing the anxieties, rivalries, and absurdities of the time.
