About the Event
Artifacts of Honor is a special pop-up exhibition showcasing military memorabilia, personal items, and memoirs that tell the stories of local veterans and the broader history of American service. From uniforms to photographs and everything in between, these objects from the Southampton History Museum's collections preserve local legacies of sacrifice, courage, and duty across generations.
Displayed items include Civil War veteran Alonzo Foster's remarkable cap, World War I veteran Leland Burnett's uniform, as well as the uniforms of Wolrd War II veterans Noel E. Hare (Staff Sergeant, United States Marine Corps), Robert Smith (Chief Petty Officer, United States Navy), Reginald H. Korte (Staff Sergeant, United States Army), and more.
