A Perfect Ending

This weekend celebrates the conclusion of the Hampton Classic Horse Show, billed as “the perfect end to the perfect summer.” It is also one of the Hamptons' biggest social galas and represents the grand finale of the summer season. This year also marks the 50th anniversary of the Hampton Classic Horse Show, commonly known as the "Hampton Classic." The Hampton Classic is one of the largest equestrian events in the United States and is recognized as one of the premier international show jumping competitions.

The Hampton Classic attracts competitors ranging from Olympic athletes, such as five-time American Olympic medalist McLain Ward and three-time Israeli Olympian medalist Daniel Bluman. Other competitors include celebrity riders, including Georgina Bloomberg and Jessica Springsteen, as well as local contestants like Jenno Topping.

The origin of the Hampton Classic dates to the early 1900s, with the current show starting in 1971 by the Topping Riding Club. The Hampton Classic equestrian facility moved to its present location in Bridgehampton in 1982. Not only does the Hampton Classic organization put on a world-class horse show, it also raises support for Stony Brook Southampton Hospital and other local charities. Don't miss the 50th annual Hampton Classic this Labor Day weekend!
